Root Of Lotus
The Lotus plant (Nelumbo nucifera) grows naturally in Japanese lakes and ponds and his root has been a part of the daily oriental diet for centuries.
These roots are hand harvested during the winter months, when they are full of sap and nutrients. They are cut into slices and sun dried to be stored and used throughout the year.

Store in a cool, dry place away from light and heat.
Add in a cup of water 1 / 4 cup of lotus root. Boil slowly for about 10 minutes , add a few drops of Shoyu and possibly a little ginger. Drink warm.
